Configurable as either a two-channel Stereo, dual Mono, or one-channel bridged mono
amplifier, it can even power dual MartinLogan Custom subwoofers. With 500 watts of
available power, flexible inputs, selectable DSP presets, and a compact footprint, the MP500
V2 delivers a powerful and versatile amplifier solution that doesn’t take up a lot of space.

In two-channel mode it outputs 130w x 2 @ 8 ohms or 250w x 2 @ 4 ohms and when in
bridged mode it can output up to 500w x 1 @ 8 ohms. While MP500 V2 can be used
to power nearly any speaker, the selectable onboard DSP presets focus on optimizing
performance for use with MartinLogan outdoor speakers and subwoofers, and select
MartinLogan Custom Installation speakers and subwoofers. The included rack mount ears and
connector bracket allows mounting up to two amplifiers in a single 1U rack space, providing
up to four high-power amplifier channels. Whether it’s powering a pair of subwoofers in a
home theater, or an outdoor speaker system, MP500 V2 brings power, performance, and
flexibility to a variety of installations.

Some Key Features

• Front-Panel USB Access: We have relocated the USB firmware port to the front panel for more effortless DSP and software updates whether the amp is in a rack or on a shelf. We also updated the firmware port to USB C and a dedicated USB cable is now included in every box.
• Toolless Phoenix Connectors: A new Phoenix/euroblock connector features a toolless design, allowing for faster, more secure speaker wire terminations (up to 12ga) without the need for a precision screwdriver.
• Included Rack Hardware: To simplify ordering and installation, every MP500 V2 now ships with the hardware required to mount one or two units side-by-side in a standard 1U rack space.
• Updated DSP Architecture: Refined presets for our latest architectural and outdoor collections are pre-loaded and selectable via the rear-panel DIP switches.

Power Density

We understand rack space can be valuable. When multiple amplifiers are required, two MP500 V2’s can be mounted side-by-side using the included connector bracket. With a 1U height and half-rack width, MP500 V2 makes efficient use of space allowing you to run up to four subwoofers using only 1U of rack space! MP500 V2 includes both rack mount ears and a connector bracket to support single or dual rack mount installations. Feet are also pre-installed for shelf or cabinet installations.

The Perfect Match

MartinLogan engineers created performance optimized DSP presets for a variety of MartinLogan Custom Installation and outdoor speakers and subwoofers, ensuring you get incredible sound and reliability. While many installations will be able to use the bass management within the AVR, processor, or other device, we also understand there are situations where a separate low pass filter may be desired. For installation flexibility, MartinLogan Custom Installation subwoofer DSP presets include a Low-Pass Filter when using the Left/Right inputs, or no additional filtering when using the dedicated subwoofer input.

Input Flexibility

MP500 V2 has Stereo RCA as well as a selectable Digital Coax or Digital Optical input, offering plenty of flexibility to directly connect your favorite source for Stereo playback. The dedicated Subwoofer (LFE) input makes it incredibly easy to power a Custom Installation subwoofer, like our Dynamo IW-S or IW-O, by connecting directly to the “Subwoofer Output” of your AVR or other electronic device. For installation flexibility, MartinLogan Custom Installation subwoofer DSP presets include a Low-Pass Filter when using the Left/Right inputs, or no additional
filtering when using the dedicated subwoofer input.

Keeping Cool Under Pressure

Taking dealer feedback to heart, the MP500 V2 features a robust, yet quiet, activecooling system in order to keep things under control even under extreme playback. With no user intervention required, the cooling fan will engage as needed to help keep the air flowing across the MP500 V2’s heatsinks, keeping the fun going. Maximum output, minimal noise.

Powerful Pairings

Using multiple subwoofers, especially in a Home Theater, has many benefits. Multiple subs provide more even bass across the room, making sure that every seat gets an incredible performance. In addition to this, by spreading the bass across multiple subs, there are more woofers handling the bass workload. By sharing bass across multiple subwoofers, distortion (and potential stress on the components) is lowered, resulting in cleaner, more effortless sound.

The most obvious benefit of increasing the subwoofer count is the higher maximum output potential, making sure that you have plenty of headroom in the system to better allow for the peaks in dynamic movie explosions or dramatic musical passages.
